Great if you're just starting out...otherwise
Not for the professional with experience. If you want to slog through extremely elementary details, go for it. This is straight up a "how do we educate someone with no prior knowledge/experience with the subject" kind of book, which is fine for newbies. Get the New Riders A+ Fast Track(Core/OS) book if you want just the essentials. Read it in a week, passed both tests +90% back to back. 1999-07-08

This book is full of typos!
I give the content of this book a "B" and would probably buy it again, but the typos on practically every page are extremely distracting! Didn't anyone proof this book before they are sent out? 1999-06-30
Great A+ book for a beginner
Microsoft has done a great job writing a book that is geared to their products. Thanks Microsoft! I learned a lot. It was very informative and easy to understand (I didn't know anything). I liked the test questions at the end of each chapter, they let you know how well you understood the chapter. I also liked the summaries at the end of each chapter. 1999-06-30
